Reprise
In our Reprise section we pay homage to those artists and bands who did not achieve the success in their careers befitting of their talent. Whether dogged with bad luck, drug addiction, personal disputes or dubious decision making they nonetheless, to a (wo)man, made some great music. We hope that if you've liked some of the new music we have found for you, you may like the music featured here too.

Fela Kuti
Fela Kuti's AIDS related death in 1997 left behind one of the funkiest and most life-affirming of musical legacies. How a man with such an unbelievable life-story can produce music of such quality and still remain unknown to a great many music-lovers of this planet remains a mystery and a situation that must surely be rectified.

John Mayall

Out Hud
A quintet that sounded like an In Sides-inspired Orbital, Out Hud, to the delight of even the most Stalinist of bleep-freaks, dealt in low-down, chugging baselines chunkier than a Chris Moyles' sandwich.

Teenage Fan Club
Over a period of 15 years, Teenage Fanclub have, without fuss or tabloid shenanigan, consistently made records to usher sunshine through the clouds and put a smile on your face.
-
Pavement
Pavement, in similar fashion to The Fall or The Velvet Underground, infuriated as much as they inspired. Producing lo fi pop at its best, the descent in to incoherent wackiness was never far away.
-
The La's
There is no crime greater than the squandering of talent so the proverb goes, in which case The La’s have committed a list of atrocities to give Genghis Khan a run for his money.
-
Tarkan
At 34, Tarkan is now a global pop superstar boasting six multi-million selling albums as well as numerous globe-trotting stadium tours. So why isn’t he a household name here?

The Beta Band
A super tight group of highly talented multi-instrumentalists; dizzyingly good live to boot, The Beta Band's charming unpredictability and subsequent split has left a gap in British music that has yet to be filled.
